Role Overview

We are seeking a highly creative, energetic, and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Intern to support our growing online brand footprint from our central office in Nairobi CBD, Nairobi. Your primary focus will be to design eye-catching social media graphics, write compelling copy, and keep our multi-channel content calendar running smoothly. This position bridges creative visual execution with daily community management; you will interact directly with our online followers, track audience response metrics, and help run digital campaigns. The role is perfect for an aspiring marketer who has strong Canva design skills, lives on social media platforms, and wants hands-on experience translating digital trends into business growth.

Areas of Accountability

Graphic Design & Content Creation

  • Design clean, modern, and engaging social media graphics, banners, and promotional templates using Canva.
  • Write catchy, brand-aligned captions and copy tailored for distinct platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Capture and edit short-form video assets (reels, TikToks, shorts) to drive organic audience engagement.
  • Maintain absolute visual consistency, ensuring all imagery, colors, and fonts align with our brand identity guides.

Community Management & Brand Interaction

  • Monitor active corporate channels daily, responding to comments, direct messages, and customer inquiries with a helpful, professional brand voice.
  • Proactively interact with relevant online communities, industry groups, and followers to spark conversations and boost organic reach.
  • Assist in organizing and executing interactive social features such as live polls, Q&A sessions, and product giveaways.

Scheduling & Campaign Coordination

  • Map out, organize, and schedule structured monthly layouts within our master content calendar.
  • Coordinate the timely launch of digital marketing assets to synchronize with broader offline promotions and product rollouts.
  • Support early-stage setups for email newsletter broadcasts, corporate blog uploads, and basic website text adjustments.

Analytics Tracking & Trend Analysis

  • Gather and record key weekly traffic stats, follower growth curves, and post-engagement metrics using platform-native analytics.
  • Keep tabs on competitor digital footprints and highlight viral social media trends that our brand can capitalize on.
  • Organize raw campaign data and digital assets cleanly in shared team drives for easy retrieval.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

  • Academic Foundation: Certificate in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communication, or a matching creative business discipline.
  • Hands-on Exposure: At least 6 months of active, practical experience managing professional social media profiles, creating content, or volunteering in a marketing capacity.
  • Design Literacy: Practical, everyday mastery of Canva for quick, high-quality graphic creation and layout formatting.
  • Platform Fluency: Comprehensive familiarity with the operational nuances of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter).

  • Verbal & Written Spark: Strong copywriting capabilities with a sharp eye for spelling, grammar, and engaging storytelling.
