Social Media & Content Producer — Dessert Brand Launch, Nairobi
Role Overview
This is a hands-on content and social role built around a single mission: making a Dubai-born dessert brand feel irresistible to Nairobi audiences before they ever walk through the door. Day to day you'll be shooting, editing and publishing the visuals that carry the brand — the pull of melted chocolate, the crack of a crust, the queue at the counter — and then running the social channels and paid campaigns that put that work in front of the right people. The brand is arriving in Kenya as a franchise, so the person in this seat shapes how it looks and sounds locally from the very first post rather than inheriting an established playbook.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce short-form video and stills on a near-daily cadence — hero product shots, texture and pour moments, in-store atmosphere and behind-the-counter content designed for Reels, TikTok and Stories.
- Own the social content calendar across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, planning around product drops, store activity, weekends and local cultural moments.
- Write captions, hooks and on-screen text with a tone that sounds native to Nairobi rather than translated from a global template.
- Run community management in real time: replying to comments and DMs, surfacing customer feedback, and keeping response times tight during launch windows.
- Brief, coordinate and host creators and influencers for collaborations, store visits and menu launches, and turn their footage into repurposable brand assets.
- Plan, launch and optimise paid social campaigns, managing creative variants, audience targeting and spend against agreed budgets.
- Shoot on location at the store and in styled set-ups, handling lighting, props, food styling and composition so product looks consistent across every channel.
- Track performance weekly — reach, saves, engagement, follower growth, campaign conversion — and report what's working and what to cut.
- Protect brand consistency by applying the franchise's global visual and verbal identity while adapting execution for the Kenyan market.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Three or more years in social media, content production or a comparable creative role, ideally for a food, beverage, QSR, retail or lifestyle brand.
- A portfolio that proves you can shoot and edit short-form video end to end — not just concept it.
- Confident with mobile-first editing tools (CapCut, InShot) alongside desktop software such as Premiere Pro, Lightroom and Photoshop; basic motion graphics in After Effects is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager and native analytics, with the ability to read a campaign and adjust without being told.
- Strong copy instincts: you can write a hook that stops a scroll and a caption that matches the brand's voice.
- Food photography and styling sensibility — an eye for texture, pour, colour and light that makes dessert look as good as it tastes.
- Comfortable working on-site at the store, with flexibility around evenings and weekends for launches, shoots and high-traffic trading periods.
- Diploma or degree in marketing, communications, media production or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Organised enough to run several content streams and campaign deadlines at once without losing the details.
Why Join
- Join at market-entry stage, when the brand's local identity is still being written and your creative choices stick.
- Own the full stack — content production, social channels and campaigns — rather than specialising in one slice of it.
- Build a portfolio on a recognisable international dessert franchise expanding into Kenya.
- Work close to the product and the people buying it, with direct visibility into how your content moves footfall and orders.
