Role Overview
You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive dental care across a broad spectrum of general and surgical procedures, while also serving as a clinical resource for complex cases such as dental implants and orofacial conditions. This position combines hands-on patient treatment with an important supervisory role, ensuring that every interaction meets high standards of safety, accuracy, and patient comfort. Your work directly supports the group’s reputation for dependable oral health services and helps maintain smooth clinical operations across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt treatment for dental emergencies alongside routine restorative, preventive, and surgical procedures for patients of all ages.
- Perform thorough examinations and diagnoses of oral diseases, then develop and implement effective treatment plans—including surgical interventions and specialised referrals where needed.
- Plan, place, and monitor dental implants, while managing long-term follow-up care to ensure successful outcomes.
- Guide patients on preventive care and demonstrate practical oral hygiene techniques tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in the electronic health system—documenting each encounter, diagnosis, and treatment, and completing any required referral forms or data collection reports.
- Coordinate with consultant specialists on complex cases, confirming appropriate referrals and the continuity of follow-up care.
- Operate dental instruments and equipment safely and efficiently, while enforcing strict sterilisation protocols and reporting maintenance needs.
- Direct and instruct dental auxiliary staff on current clinical techniques and updated procedures, and participate in developing best-practice guidelines for patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognised institution.
- Full registration and licensure with the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- At least two years of post-internship experience in general dentistry, including hands-on dental implant diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Documented clinical exposure to orofacial pain and oral medicine.
- Advanced certification in ACLS and/or ATLS.
- Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics, record-keeping, and clinical technique.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a high-volume practice while maintaining an empathetic approach to patient care.
