Role Overview
This internship sits at the intersection of data operations and learning systems, helping ensure that monitoring and evaluation information is reliable, accessible, and ready for decision-making. The intern will work with AIMS and Qlik environments to prepare datasets, clarify reporting needs, and quality-check dashboard outputs. By keeping data clean and feedback loops active, the role strengthens how programs track performance and act on evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, sort, and structure data from AIMS and related systems for recurring and ad hoc reporting.
- Work with report users to capture visualization requirements, keep a clear record of assignments, and communicate progress.
- Track visualization tasks through completion, testing outputs for accuracy, usability, and alignment with reporting standards.
- Check data matches and business logic for new or updated dashboards, ensuring displayed results reflect agreed definitions.
- Execute DQA validation routines in AIMS and Qlik, investigate exceptions, and confirm data is reliable for reporting.
- Update the DQA issue log on a biweekly cycle with insights, follow-up actions, and status notes for Corporate MEL focal points.
- Monitor DQA performance in Qlik to spot country-specific design and monitoring gaps; present these in MEL meetings to prompt action.
- Contribute to documentation of DQA workflow and visualization enhancements, and support Routine Data Quality Audits (RDQAs) with implementing offices to validate data integrity.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education and experience
- Diploma at minimum in Statistics, Data Analytics, IT, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a comparable data management, reporting, M&E, or analytics support role.
Knowledge, skills, and competencies
- Ability to coordinate with country office focal points and build cooperative working relationships across teams.
- Strong facilitation skills and a style that encourages inclusive participation in requirements discussions and meetings.
- Self-directed work habits, with the initiative to follow up on assignments and resolve routine issues proactively.
- Commitment to integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct in handling data and working with colleagues.
- Attention to detail for data validation, testing, and documentation.
- Comfort working with data systems and visualization tools, particularly AIMS and Qlik.
- Clear communication skills for explaining data issues and reporting needs to non-technical users.
