Key Responsibilities.
Programme Management
- Management of day to day operations and efficient coordination of community health activities.
- Ensure the implementation of the community health program conforms to internationally accepted standards and national guidelines
- Provide technical guidance to national technical staff and refugee incentive workers on the planning and implementation of the community health program.
- Provide technical leadership and support in conducting mass campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UN agencies.
- Establish a plan of action for all community health activities to include monitoring and evaluation.
- Support the development of project annual work plans in coordination with the project teams.
Finance/ Grants management
- Prepare budgets and proposals for community health activities
- Recommend grant and budget revisions to the relevant supervisors
- Ensure adherence to budgets by reviewing expenditure and spending patterns.
Communication and Reporting
- Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly program reports on the community health activities are prepared and shared, whilst ensuring continuous monitoring of community based indicators
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Public Health / Environmental Health.
- Masters degree in Public health/Environmental Health will be an added advantage.
- Membership Certificate/Licence from the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council.
- Three (3) years working experience in planning, implementing and evaluating community health programmes in a busy set up either with MoH or INGO.
- Work experience in Camp setting will be an added advantage.
Technical and other Competences
- Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills.
- Should be a team player and culturally sensitive.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and utilization of the internet.
- Demonstrate ability of proposal/budget making and grant management.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver the Society’s strategic objectives.
