Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer / Integrator turns business goals into coordinated execution, connecting leadership priorities with the work of operational teams. Based on-site in Athi River, this full-time role strengthens processes, performance tracking and accountability so the organization can improve delivery and support its growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert organizational priorities into operational plans, team objectives and practical workflows.
- Review how resources are used, identify constraints and improve processes to make operations more efficient and scalable.
- Track departmental results, budgets and delivery schedules to support business growth and timely execution.
- Develop and maintain standard procedures, reporting structures and quality controls across the organization.
- Coordinate projects involving multiple departments, clarifying ownership, resources, risks and deadlines.
- Set expectations for managers and teams through clear responsibilities, measurable KPIs and accountability practices.
- Coach department leaders, address cross-team issues and encourage consistent improvement in performance.
- Assess operational and financial information, produce management reports and recommend actions based on trends in productivity, customer experience and profitability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in operations management, business leadership or project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience scaling, restructuring or substantially improving operations in a startup, SME, social enterprise or growing commercial organization.
- Strong understanding of operational management, process design, performance measurement and project management methods.
- Sound financial judgment, confident data analysis skills and the ability to solve complex operational problems.
- Familiarity with business management, ERP, reporting and project-tracking tools; experience with platforms such as Asana, Trello or ClickUp is an advantage.
- Ability to lead on-site operations in Athi River, Kenya.
