Description:
SAFCO International is expanding its team and is seeking experienced professionals for the positions of Category Manager – Asian Food (Japanese Food Products) and Category Manager – Seafood Division. This is an excellent opportunity for commercially driven individuals with a strong background in category management, strategic sourcing, and business development within the food distribution industry.
The ideal candidates will be responsible for managing product portfolios, identifying market opportunities, developing category growth strategies, and building strong relationships with international suppliers. Professionals with experience introducing and growing imported food brands within the UAE market will have a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.
• Manage assigned product portfolios while identifying new business and market opportunities.
• Source products and negotiate commercial agreements with international suppliers.
• Analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitor activities to support category development.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor product performance and recommend improvements to maximize category success.
• Support the launch and expansion of imported food brands within the UAE market.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in Category Management, Sales, and Business Development.
• Experience managing Asian food products, Japanese food products, or seafood categories is preferred.
• Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Experience working with international suppliers and sourcing imported products.
• Ability to identify market opportunities and develop sustainable growth strategies.
• Experience launching and managing imported food brands in the UAE market will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of:
• Category management, product portfolio development, and business strategy
• International sourcing, supplier negotiations, and import operations
• UAE FMCG market, food distribution, sales growth, and business development
