Car Wash Supervisor

Role Overview

This position is for an active, hands-on supervisor at an established car wash and vehicle care centre located along Kamiti Road in Zimmerman, Nairobi. Each day you will coordinate the flow of vehicles through washing and detailing bays, direct a team of attendants, inspect finished work for quality, and handle customer payments, making sure every car is returned clean and on time. Your supervision directly affects the centre’s reputation, daily revenue, safety standards, and the efficiency of the whole ground crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and assign daily tasks to car wash attendants, ensuring each shift is fully staffed and workloads are evenly distributed.
• Monitor the flow of vehicles through wash, polish, interior cleaning, and detailing stages to avoid delays and reduce client wait times.
• Drive customer vehicles safely and carefully between reception, wash bays, and parking areas, using sound judgment with both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Receive customers, present available cleaning and detailing packages, set accurate expectations, and respond to questions or concerns with professionalism.
• Inspect every finished vehicle for exterior and interior quality before the customer receives it, and arrange any needed touch-ups with attendants.
• Process daily payments through cash, M-Pesa, or card, issue receipts, and keep clear transaction records that are balanced at the end of every shift.
• Track stock and consumables such as detergents, waxes, polishes, microfibres, and spare equipment parts, reporting low supplies or repair needs to management.
• Maintain tidy wash bays, customer waiting areas, and equipment storage, and enforce safe work habits among all staff to prevent accidents and equipment damage.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid Kenyan driving licence with proven, confident ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
• At least two years of active work experience in car wash operations, valet services, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing service role.
• Practical experience in basic cashiering, M-Pesa till reconciliation, and daily sales record keeping.
• Ability to lead a small team, enforce standards of discipline and attendance, and keep the crew productive under time pressure.
• Strong spoken communication, listening, and complaint-resolution skills, with a trustworthy and detail-focused approach.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Zimmerman along the Kamiti Road corridor. The monthly remuneration ranges from KSh 15,000 to KSh 20,000, with the opportunity to take ownership of daily operations and build a reliable, recognised car wash team.
