Role Overview
This position sits on the front line of the firm's growth, owning the pursuit of new corporate clients across Nairobi and the surrounding region. Day to day, the job involves researching target organisations, getting in front of decision-makers, running pitch and discovery meetings, and steering opportunities all the way through to signed engagements. Because the firm sells professional services — HR, accounting, audit, tax and business advisory work — the person in this seat is effectively the engine behind new revenue, and their ability to win trust with senior corporate buyers directly shapes how quickly the practice expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritise untapped market segments, then build qualified prospect lists of corporate organisations that fit the firm's service offering.
- Reach decision-makers through a mix of cold outreach, professional networking, industry events and social platforms, opening conversations that convert into meetings.
- Own the full B2B sales cycle — prospecting, first contact, needs discovery, presentation, negotiation and closing — without handing deals off midway.
- Present the firm's HR management, accounting, audit, tax and business advisory solutions persuasively to senior client stakeholders.
- Prepare tailored proposals, formal fee quotations and presentation decks that reflect each prospect's specific business problem and budget context.
- Monitor the conversion funnel continuously, chasing stalled opportunities and working to hit or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Keep disciplined, up-to-date records of prospect conversations, live opportunities, follow-up actions and pipeline performance.
- Nurture relationships with newly won and existing corporate accounts to generate repeat engagements, upsells and referrals.
- Watch competitor pricing, market shifts and evolving client demand, and feed those insights back into how the firm positions and prices its services.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: a bachelor's degree or diploma in business administration, marketing, sales, human resource management, accounting, finance or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: a minimum of three years in a business development, B2B sales or client acquisition role, with a demonstrable record of winning accounts.
- Sector fit: previous success selling professional services — ideally from within an HR, accounting, audit, finance or business advisory environment. Candidates from other sectors will need to show how their transferable selling skills apply to consultative, relationship-led deals.
- Sales capability: the ability to build a lead network from scratch, work through corporate procurement processes and close deals of meaningful value.
- Communication: strong spoken presentation skills and clean written English, sufficient to draft proposals, quotations and slide decks that hold up in front of senior decision-makers.
- Negotiation: comfort handling commercial discussions on fees, scope and terms while protecting the firm's position.
- Self-management: a target-driven, self-starting approach — this role requires independently planning your own week and staying accountable to numbers.
- Organisation: the habit of maintaining structured, reliable records of prospects, follow-ups and pipeline metrics.
This is a full-time role based in Nairobi, working standard office hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and splitting time between the office and visits to corporate client premises. Applications should be submitted with an updated CV through the official job board posting.
