Finance & Tax Accountant

Role Overview

This role oversees the day-to-day delivery of phone financing operations, from preparing systems for launch to supporting retail partners and monitoring repayment-plan performance. By connecting technology providers, shop teams, promoters, and internal departments, the role helps ensure customers can access and use installment plans smoothly across the Kenyan mobile retail market.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate operational needs into system requirements, coordinate configuration with software providers, lead user acceptance testing, and manage issues before and after launch.
• Recruit and onboard retail partners and promoters, then train them on financing eligibility, installment processes, payment collection, and readiness expectations.
• Support the setup and day-to-day operation of customer deposits and repayment schedules, shop incentive arrangements, and local marketing activities.
• Monitor sales conversion and adoption of financing plans, identify operational barriers, and coordinate practical improvements with partner shops and internal teams.
• Set customer service procedures and scripts, investigate recurring complaints, and help teams resolve customer issues consistently.
• Track weekly performance indicators and prepare management updates on operational results and emerging concerns.
• Coordinate daily business activities across functions, supervise team delivery, and act as Deputy Business Head when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience in fintech, phone financing, pay-as-you-go financing, or mobile phone retail operations.
• Experience supporting system rollouts or product implementations and coordinating testing, launch readiness, and post-launch issue resolution.
• Background in supervising teams and enabling retail partners or field promoters to deliver financing products.
• Strong understanding of Kenya’s mobile retail market and customer payment behaviours.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
