Role Overview
Based in Nairobi, the Associate Revit Technician supports a security design engineering team delivering projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The role focuses on translating engineering intent into coordinated Revit and AutoCAD models and drawings, resolving spatial conflicts, and helping multidisciplinary teams maintain consistent BIM and CAD standards. This work is essential for producing clear, buildable security documentation that keeps projects aligned and moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain security design drawings and models in Revit and AutoCAD for projects throughout the EMEA region.
- Run clash detection on Revit models, investigate conflicts, and coordinate agreed solutions with relevant design parties.
- Participate in virtual BIM coordination sessions for EMEA projects, articulating technical issues clearly and helping drive them to resolution.
- Create, maintain, and take ownership of the department's BIM and CAD standards, ensuring consistency across deliverables.
- Produce 3D visualisations and computer-generated images to communicate proposed security solutions.
- Ensure all drawings and outputs meet high quality, accuracy, and presentation standards before issue.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the team to deliver projects on schedule and enhance the value of final outputs.
- Apply inventive thinking to improve security design outcomes and seek more efficient ways to produce design documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, gained through substantial experience in an architecture or MEP engineering practice.
- Ability to work across disciplines, with a primary focus on mechanical and electrical building services and architecture.
- Practical experience with clash detection and resolution using both Navisworks and Revit.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows, Common Data Environments, and quality assurance systems.
- Capable of generating 3D renders and graphic presentations.
- Strong coordination and liaison skills to work with clients, architects, and other members of the design team.
- Understanding of COBie data requirements as they apply to MEP and security drawings.
- Fluent English communication, both written and verbal.
- Exposure to additional CAD software is advantageous.
- Relevant formal training in architectural technology, engineering, or a related design discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
