Role Overview

You will take charge of a classroom of learners, guiding them through the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) while also supporting the Competency-Based Education (CBE) approach. Day to day, you will plan and deliver lessons, monitor individual progress, and contribute to the broader life of the school through co-curricular activities. Your teaching will directly influence learners’ academic growth and personal development, making you a key figure in the school’s mission to provide quality, holistic education.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with CBC and CBE guidelines, adapting content to meet diverse learner needs.
• Assess, record, and report on learner progress, using both formative and summative evaluation methods to guide instruction.
• Integrate ICT tools into teaching and learning activities to enhance student engagement and digital literacy.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment that supports positive behaviour and active participation.
• Participate in the design, coordination, and supervision of co-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, and cultural events.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues on learner development and any emerging concerns.
• Undertake professional development and stay current with curriculum changes, teaching methodologies, and school policies.
• Support the school’s administrative and co-curricular programmes by carrying out additional duties as assigned by the head teacher.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Teaching Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
• Must have a P1 Certificate or an upgraded Diploma in Education from a recognised institution.
• Experience teaching in a primary or basic education setting is mandatory, with at least three years of proven classroom practice required.
• Must be fully compliant with both Competency-Based Education (CBE) and Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) frameworks.
• Working knowledge of ICT in education is considered a distinct advantage, including the ability to use digital tools for lesson delivery and record keeping.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with learners, staff, and parents.
• A genuine willingness to actively participate in co-curricular activities is required, as these form an integral part of the school community.
