Accountant – Procurement Oversight

Role Overview

Khione Electromechanical and A/C Works is looking for an accountant to manage core financial operations while keeping procurement records and supplier transactions under control. Based in Ras Al Khaimah, this role combines ledger management and reporting with UAE tax compliance, purchasing support, and coordination across the business and its external advisers.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable, post general ledger entries, and keep day-to-day accounting records accurate and current.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial summaries, and balance sheet and supplier reconciliations.
• Reconcile VAT transactions, prepare UAE VAT returns, and maintain supporting documentation for tax filings.
• Support Corporate Tax compliance by helping prepare relevant financial information and records.
• Review procurement paperwork, including supplier quotations and purchase orders, and coordinate the accounting steps required to process payments.
• Maintain organised supplier files and purchasing records, applying appropriate financial controls to procurement activity.
• Monitor cash flow and contribute to budgeting, spending reviews, and cost-control efforts.
• Respond to information requests from auditors, banks, tax advisers, and internal colleagues.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
• Three to five years of accounting experience; experience working in the UAE is preferred.
• Practical experience with UAE VAT reconciliations and preparing VAT returns.
• Familiarity with procurement, purchasing, or supplier administration is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of UAE Corporate Tax requirements is an advantage.
• Confident user of accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or a comparable professional qualification, completed or underway, is beneficial.
• Experience in engineering, technical services, construction, or a growing small or medium-sized business is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and organisational ability, clear communication, and the judgement to manage competing tasks independently.
