About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Intern to join our team. This position offers hands-on experience in financial operations, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting. You will work closely with our finance department to support daily accounting activities while building a strong foundation for a career in finance or accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & Verification: Input daily financial transactions, invoices, and expenses into the accounting system or tracking spreadsheets.
- Invoice Processing: Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) by sorting incoming invoices, matching receipts, and preparing payment vouchers.
- Bank Reconciliations: Help match bank statements against internal financial records to ensure everything balances perfectly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of weekly or monthly financial updates, balance sheets, and expense tracking reports.
- Filing & Documentation: Organize and maintain physical and digital financial records, vouchers, and tax documents to ensure audit readiness.
- Audit Support: Help gather receipts, reports, and documentation when internal or external auditors review the books.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in (or recent graduation from) a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Progress toward professional qualifications (such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA Level 1) is highly valued.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical skills, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential financial data with integrity.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (such as QuickBooks or SAP) is a plus.
