Job Description

Job Title: Drilling Technician

Job Summary: The Drilling Technician will oversee borehole drilling operations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. This role involves supervising drilling teams, maintaining equipment, and collecting data for analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the drilling process and ensure attainment of the recommended depth;
  • Ensure borehole casing, development, capping, and platform construction are completed as per design;
  • Supervise test pumping and ensure samples for quality analysis are taken;
  • Carry out borehole logging and produce interpreted data;
  • Ensure periodic servicing of drilling rig and compressor;
  • Provide guidance to the drilling team and the department; and
  • Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, with at least grade C (plain) or equivalent;
  • Diploma in Drilling or Ground Water Technology from Kenya National Examination Council or other equivalent qualification;
  • Demonstrate mechanical understanding of drilling equipment and operations; and
  • Minimum working experience of 3 years in a relevant reputable institution or company.
