J&I is a fast-growing startup in the manufacturing sector, operating a small-scale but rapidly expanding human and animal feed food processing and roasted business in Nairobi.

Job Title: Sales Executive – Human Food Division

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Sales Executive to join our human food business. The Sales Executive will be responsible for recruiting and securing orders from distributors, supermarkets, minimarts, and well-established retail shops along a given route. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both formal and informal retail markets, excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging with clients in person and online. This role is open to individuals based in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Sign up the business with big retail chains (supermarkets) and distributors in the assigned region
  • Develop and maintain relationships with retail outlets to ensure a steady flow of orders
  • Ensure timely stock replenishment for existing customers
  • Gather information on client needs and preferences and make suggestions for product improvements
  • Work with the production team to plan production schedules based on demand forecasts
  • Manage the company’s social media pages and engage with clients online
  • Collaborate with the ICT department to develop suitable content for the website

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business, Sales, or Marketing. A degree in Marketing will be an added advantage
  • At least 1 year of experience in FMCG, specifically in retail sales to distributors, supermarkets, and minimarkets
  • Having an existing customer base is a mandatory requirement
