Description:
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Patient Intake Specialist to support new patient admissions in a fully remote environment. This role focuses on ensuring accurate intake processing, insurance verification, and coordination of care to help patients begin services without delay.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in gathering patient information, reviewing prescriptions, and confirming insurance eligibility while maintaining strict compliance with healthcare documentation standards. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple intake cases efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and enter accurate patient demographic and clinical information
• Verify insurance coverage and review patient benefits
• Submit and follow up on authorization requests
• Review prescriptions and identify missing documentation
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and referral sources
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely start of care
• Maintain accurate and HIPAA-compliant records
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare intake or medical office support
• Experience with insurance verification or authorizations preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a remote environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge of:
• Healthcare intake and patient onboarding processes
• Insurance verification and authorization workflows
• Medical documentation standards and HIPAA compliance
• Electronic medical records (EMR) systems
