Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • We are seeking a motivated intern to provide coordination and support services for the advancement of the goals of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), specifically within the Automotive Sector and allied sub-sectors.

Specific Objectives

  • Sector Coordination & Support – Coordinate and support the advancement of the goals of KAM’s sectoral work.
  • Implementation of Manufacturing Functions – Support the effective implementation of manufacturing sector functions.
  • Account Management – Provide account management for assigned sectors, ensuring member needs are addressed.
  • Administrative Support – Implement administrative activities required to ensure smooth sector operations.
  • Information Dissemination – Ensure timely and effective communication of relevant information to members.
  • Reporting – Deliver timely and accurate reports to support decision-making and accountability

Duties & Responsibilities

Sector Coordination & Secretariat Support:

  • Provide secretariat services to industrial sectors under the Association and coordinate their activities.
  • Facilitate quarterly and special sector/sub-sector meetings.
  • Support in developing and updating industrial sector profiles.

Policy & Advocacy Support:

  • Identify policy issues and develop strategies, position papers, and memoranda to influence key decision makers.
  • Support execution of government engagements and policy monitoring (National & EAC budget-making processes).
  • Assist in addressing members’ advocacy issues through engagements with government agencies, regulators, and stakeholders.

Capacity Building & Strategic Development:

  • Support capacity building by developing and implementing strategies and strategic relationships.
  • Support in the development and implementation of strategies to nurture sectors and sub-sectors.

Member Services & Account Management:

  • Provide effective account management by responding to members’ policy-related and operational queries.
  • Maintain and update databases of key contacts to enhance KAM services, networks, and advocacy work.
  • Disseminate information effectively to members via emails, WhatsApp groups, sector briefs, and profiles.

Resource Mobilization & Reporting:

  • Support in resource mobilization to facilitate sector-related work.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports to support decision-making and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Social Sciences or any other relevant discipline
  • At Least 1-Year Experience in a Similar Position
