Role Overview
We are seeking a disciplined, high-energy Chef to anchor our daily culinary operations and kitchen excellence. Your primary focus will be to prepare, cook, and present outstanding meals while strictly adhering to established recipes, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks. This position bridges high-speed recipe execution with meticulous waste management; you will guide kitchen ingredients from initial receiving and inspection through to finalized plate presentations. The role demands an organized culinary professional who thrives under fast-paced service pressures and can seamlessly collaborate with the wider team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
Areas of Accountability
Food Preparation & Culinary Quality

Prepare, cook, and plate diverse meals according to set menus, specialized recipes, and internal presentation guidelines.

Ensure all guest orders are executed and transferred to the service floor within established time parameters.

Audit food quality, flavor profiles, textures, and aesthetic appearance before allowing any plate to leave the kitchen pass.

Contribute creative ideas to menu engineering workshops, suggesting dish improvements and seasonal updates.

Enforce strict portion control standards during preparation to reduce food shrinkage and protect profit margins.
Station Management & Inventory Guarding

Maintain a clean, highly organized, and efficient workstation during preparation and live service rushes.

Operate and care for commercial kitchen machinery, tools, and heavy equipment safely and in line with technical instructions.

Assist in receiving, verifying, and logging incoming food raw materials against safety and freshness standards.

Monitor immediate ingredient stock levels, reporting shortages or storage concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Sanitation Compliance

Adhere to all national public health food safety laws, sanitation benchmarks, and personal hygiene rules.

Execute rigorous food handling, storage categorization, item labeling, and cold/hot temperature control processes.

Participate actively in deep-cleaning schedules, workstation sterilization routines, and internal health inspections.

Ensure corporate compliance with general workspace occupational health and safety standards.
Team Coordination & Capacity Building

Work harmoniously alongside service stewards and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and client satisfaction.

Implement operational directives from culinary supervisors with a positive, professional, and adaptive workplace attitude.

Assist in mentoring, guiding, and sharpening the culinary skills of junior kitchen assistants and apprentices when assigned.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria

Academic Foundation: Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management, or a matching practical discipline.

Kitchen Track Record: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience working within a fast-paced restaurant, boutique hotel, or commercial catering kitchen.

Technical Mastery: Strong, demonstrable command over diverse cooking techniques, knife handling, and creative food presentation styles.

Process Literacy: Functional knowledge of local food safety standards, hazard prevention codes, and standard kitchen workflow setups.
