Job Description
- The Mechanical Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring mechanical equipment, materials, and services required for projects and operations.
- Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and analyze vendor proposals.
- Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure procured items comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications, inspections, and documentation.
- Monitor order progress and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, non-conformance, and quality concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in mechanical and HVAC projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical & HVAC systems, materials, and equipment.
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
