Job Overview:
A construction company in Murang’a is looking for a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and heavy construction equipment, ensuring machines operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance

Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment

Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs
-
Conduct inspections to detect wear, damage, or malfunction
-
Ensure all vehicles and machinery are in good working condition
Repairs & Troubleshooting
-
Repair engines, braking, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical systems
-
Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues in trucks and heavy machinery
-
Replace faulty parts and components as required
Equipment Management
-
Maintain construction machinery including excavators, graders, rollers, and other roadwork equipment
-
Ensure servicing is done according to manufacturer schedules
-
Minimize equipment downtime through timely repairs
Workshop Operations

Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment
-
Keep records of repairs, maintenance activities, and spare parts used
-
Support inventory tracking of spare parts and tools
Safety & Compliance
-
Follow workshop safety procedures and company policies
-
Ensure safe handling and operation of tools, equipment, and machinery
-
Report major equipment faults or safety concerns to management
Key Requirements:

Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field

Minimum 3 years’ experience working with trucks and heavy construction equipment

Experience with trucks such as Tata, FAW, and Isuzu
-
Experience repairing excavators, graders, rollers, and other construction machinery
-
Prior experience in construction or road works environments preferred
