Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership in business development in line with the bank's overall strategy position. The position is responsible for product development, business banking, alternative channels, marketing, and liability management. The role aims to improve profitability through strategic planning, exploring business opportunities, and positioning the bank in appropriate markets.
Job Specification
- Developing, reviewing, and implementing business development, liability management, and customer management policies, programs, and strategies.
- Coordinating bank marketing strategy, liability management, and implementation of annual plans and budgets.
- Lead generation and growth of loans, advances, and liabilities portfolios.
- Developing target market selection frameworks.
- Managing relationships and networks with business partners and stakeholders.
- Ensuring cross-selling of bank products to existing and new clients.
- Driving end-to-end product management life cycle.
- Coordinating the development of suitable banking products.
- Identifying business development strategies to strengthen the bank’s portfolio.
- Identifying new business opportunities, markets, trends, products, and services.
- Planning and executing business and product promotional strategies.
- Creating and managing key strategic partnerships.
- Overseeing market intelligence and research activities.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field is an added advantage.
- Registration with a recognized professional body (KIB, MSK, ICPAK, FMA, or equivalent).
- At least twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) at Manager or comparable level.
- In-depth understanding of the banking industry across departments.
- Experience leading a business development team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong competitor and market analysis skills.
- Leadership training from recognized institutions.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Demonstrated results in work performance.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.
