Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance and Operations Manager in managing the development, documentation, implementation, and monitoring financial transactions and ensuring that they are recorded on the Sun System, Coded in line with fund accounting policies and donor reporting framework (i.e. DBL, Project codes & function code), on an accurate and timely basis and financial reports are provided to the different stakeholders by the prescribed deadlines.
  • Help in the development, documentation and monitoring of internal control processes and prevent loss of and misuse of organization’s assets.
  • Assist the Finance and Operations Manager in preparation and analysis of accurate
  • “Actual vs. Budget” financial statements direct from the National Office’s financial database and monthly/Quarterly management accounts and monitoring for performance and efficiency and ensure delivery of full balance sheet reconciliation on monthly basis.
  • Prepare the organizational monthly and quarterly forecast, supervise and review petty cash and suppliers’ payment in compliance with finance policies.
  • Provide oversight on bank management.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES / INDICATORS

  • Ensure sound financial management for Habitat for Humanity Kenya (HFHK).
  • Enforce strict implementation of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) and HFHK policies.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality internal and external financial reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong people management skills to lead and develop the finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
  • Professional Qualification CPA/ACCA/CIM

EXPERIENCE

  • 7 - 10 years’ work experience in a busy organization, private business or NonGovernmental Organization, out of which 2 years should have been at a managementlevel with responsibilities for overseeing the Finance function of an organization.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in grant management.
