Job Description

• Access & Egress Control: Enforce stringent access control procedures at the main gate and all entry points. Verify identification for all staff, contractors, and visitors in line with the Company’s Security Standing Orders.
• Patrols & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols within the plant premises, including the perimeter fence, turbine halls, switch yards, control rooms, and fuel storage areas. Monitor for any signs of intrusion, safety hazards, or suspicious activity.
• Security System Operation: Operate and monitor modern security systems including Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), intruder alarm systems, and perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS).
• Incident Response & Reporting: Act as a first responder to any security or safety incident within the plant. Prepare clear, concise, and accurate written reports (Incident Reports, Daily Occurrence Book) for all irregularities, breaches, or observations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all security operations comply with the Private Security Regulation Act, Energy Act, and guidelines from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) regarding the protection of critical energy infrastructure.
• Emergency Preparedness: Participate in regular security and safety drills. Assist in the implementation of the plant’s Emergency Response Plan in liaison with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department.

Requirements

• At least three (3) years of proven experience in a disciplined force within a high-risk or critical infrastructure facility (power plant, airport, refinery, large bank).
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ and above.
• Diploma in Security Management/Criminology from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
• Valid Certificate Of Good Conduct
• Additional training in security or safety is an added advantage.
