Job Overview
Our client, a leading agricultural company based in Bomet, is looking to hire an Outgrowers Manager who will be focus on securing a consistent, high-quality volume of green leaf from contracted smallholder farmers and ensuring their compliance with necessary local regulations and international sustainability certifications.
The ideal candidate Must have prior experience within the tea, coffee, or high-value perennial crop sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with outgrowers to ensure consistent supply of quality produce.
- Implement best agricultural practices and provide technical support to outgrowers.
- Monitor and evaluate outgrower performance and production activities.
- Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely collection and delivery of produce.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports related to outgrower operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate training programs to enhance outgrower skills and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field.
- 8 years' experience in agricultural management, specifically with outgrowers.
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices and crop management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
- Willingness to travel and work in rural settings.
