Establish and manage Company's central nursery and demonstration farms.
Supervise all nursery activities to ensure they meet efficiency, compliance, and good agricultural practice standards.
Monitor and analyze data on propagation, germination, and seedling growth at the nursery.
Develop and oversee schedules for irrigation, nutrition, crop protection, and weeding.
Manage attendance and payroll for casual workers at the nursery and demo farms.
Compile and submit regular progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) on nursery and demo farm performance.
Maintain comprehensive databases of mother plants, seedlings, and smallholder demo farms.
Provide training to casual workers and farmers on nursery management and coconut tree husbandry.
Train field officers and buying clerks on best agricultural practices and research findings.
Support the organization of farmer demonstration days at the Demo Farm.
Create digital content to be used for farmer training and extension activities.
Monitor farmer seedling progress using Appsheet software and provide regular reports.
Coordinate with field officers on mother plant and seedling bookings with farmers.
Assist in identifying and establishing smallholder demo farms and micro-nurseries.
Collaborate with field officers and supervisors to ensure the successful management of these smallholder sites.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, or a related field.
A Diploma is acceptable if it's accompanied by strong field experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in crop propagation, nursery management, or demo farm management, specifically with tree crops, horticulture or perennials.
Experience working with smallholder farmers and managing extension or training programs.
Previous exposure to agricultural data systems, such a digital tools or mobile reporting, is considered an advantage.
Must be a licensed motorbike rider.
