Job Description

As the External Relations Officer reporting to the External Relations Manager, you will provide essential support to our client in relation to stakeholder engagement (such as governmental authorities, ministries, national and county governments and community members), public information, data management, and administrative coordination, contributing to the effective implementation of our client projects and initiatives while ensuring alignment with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Ensure our client maintains strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders and adheres to regulations.

 

Support stakeholder engagement activities by scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining communication logs with key stakeholders including communities, government agencies, and NGOs.

 

Assist in the dialogue with external stakeholders and provide accurate information by organizing regular briefings and bilateral meetings.

 

Collaborate with local communities to ensure efficient and timely implementation of  our clients projects and initiatives.

 

Act as the focal point for partner relations and community liaison for purposes of our clients projects and engagements with members of the community.

 

Assist in the implementation and tracking of communications with stakeholders, collecting and organizing relevant data, maintaining records, and supporting reporting processes.

 

Prepare relevant reports and presentations by compiling information, drafting summaries, and ensuring document accuracy.

 

Assist in organizing training sessions, managing logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications.

 

Maintain and update databases related to the external relations department, ensuring timely tracking of activities and outcomes.

 

Stay abreast of current affairs and collect relevant information and updates from the public authorities affecting our clients business and projects.

 

Assist in planning and organizing communications strategy that generates support for our clientsoperations from external stakeholders.

 

Key Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications or any other related discipline.

 

2 – 4 years of experience in communications, external relations, community development, stakeholder engagement, or administrative coordination.

 

Experience in creating and presenting reports.

 

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

 

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and cross-culturally

 

Experience of working across, diverse and engaging diverse teams, being flexible and able to adjust.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

 

Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
