Job Description

Our client in the interior design sector is hiring an Accounts assistant with strong accounting background, to support the accounting department by performing cashier responsibilities and assisting with routine accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, daily reconciliation of transactions, and prompt processing of payments and receipts.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Recording daily financial transactions, including sales, payments, and invoices. 

 

Managing invoices, processing payments to vendors, and tracking customer payments. 

 

Maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and databases. 

 

Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy. 

 

Assisting with payroll processing, including data entry and record keeping. 

 

Preparing reports like profit and loss statements and balance sheets. 

 

Handling mail, answering phones, and performing general administrative duties within the accounting department. 

 

Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting and tax regulations. 

 

Supporting during financial audits by gathering and organizing relevant documents. 

 

Addressing customer queries related to invoices and payments. 

 

Generate daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports for management review.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

At least a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA Finalist is an added advantage.

 

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar cashier/accounts support role.

 

Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho etc.) and Microsoft Excel.

 

Strong numerical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail.

 

High level of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.

 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

 

Professional and courteous with a customer-service mindset.

 

Strong organization and record-keeping abilities.

 

Adaptability to routine and occasional ad-hoc assignments.

 

Team player with the ability to work independently.
