Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Updating daily container movements in the local system and Principal system on daily basis.
Updating loading and discharge movements per vessel / voyage in local Principal System.
Attending joint surveys with clients on excessively damaged containers.
Accurately billing repair and demurrage charges and follow up for collection on time.
Reconcile Month End Depot handling charges before submitting them to Principal.
Updating and raising invoices for demurrage/interim demurrage in Principal system.
Checking of stevedoring/Wharfage invoices for settlement by Accounts department.
Weekly reconciliation of KPA biller account and raising dispute to wrongly billed invoices.
Following up and reconciling KPA invoices for storage/Wharfage/Roll over charges.
Chasing and closing KPA disputed invoices for Storage and other related charges.
Pre-advise of empty container to be repatriated on empty vessel.
Writing removal letters for stripped CFS/PORT containers to be removed from port to depot.
Filling of all documents relating to line/NVOCC containers such as: Contracts/Agreements, Inward/Outward Interchanges etc.
Responding to emails received within 24 Hrs, even if with a holding message within 2 Hrs and any ad-hoc delegated by the Line manager.
Reconciling and consolidating export empty/FCL containers at port.
Adhere to ISS policies and procedures and business ethics codes and ensure all these are practiced daily.
Key Deliverables:
Accuracy in both Line/NVOCC system and ships at any given time.
Accuracy in meeting time deadlines or vessel cut offs.
Timely dispatch of reports to meet principal protocols and deadline.
Who You Are:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar or related field.
Knowledge of shipping and KPA/Empty depots processes.
Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Hold a valid Kenyan Drivers Licence.
A Bachelor’s degree or ICS Diploma is desirable.
