The Sales Manager (EA) will be responsible for driving B2B and retail sales strategies to achieve significant market penetration and growth across East Africa. This role includes oversight of the B2BSales Supervisor and the Regional Sales Supervisor, ensuring effective execution of sales initiatives. The manager will also engage with international customers as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Development in East Africa
- Oversee and manage domestic sales channels, focusing on both B2B and retail sectors within East Africa.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve sales growth targets and maximize market share.
- Build relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to ensure targets are met e.g. Incentive structures.
Regional Business Development
- Analyze market opportunities across East Africa, creating comprehensive go-to-market strategies to enhance market presence.
- Lead business development initiatives to expand the company’s footprint across the region.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, distributors and partners.
- Ensure compliance with local trade regulations and standards.
Team Leadership
- Create incentive structures, including bonus schemes tied to achieving growth targets for the sales team.
- Mentor and develop the B2B Sales Supervisor and Regional Sales Supervisor to foster a high performing team.
Product Launch and Management
- Collaborate with product development teams to launch new products tailored to the East African market.
- Oversee the product lifecycle from ideation to market introduction, ensuring alignment with market demands.
- Coordinate with R&D and Marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.
Marketing and Promotions
- Develop and implement targeted marketing strategies to support product launches and enhance market visibility.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotional strategies that drive sales
growth.
International Customer Engagement
- Support the Commercial Director in managing relationships with international customers, ensuring alignment with regional strategies.
- Assist in preparing proposals and strategies to penetrate international markets.
Executive Team Collaboration
- Actively participate in discussions with the executive team to provide insights and support in decision-making processes.
- Assist the Commercial Director in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders and board meetings.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- MBA in business administration, /marketing/sales or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior sales or commercial role, with a focus on East African markets
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving commercial objectives in both bulk and retail segments
- Strong understanding of the East African business environment and market dynamics
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and drive operational excellence
- Experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
Salary: Kshs. 200,000
Otherpay: LUCRATIVE COMMISSION
