Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Porter to join our team. As a Porter, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for our guests and ensuring their comfort throughout their stay.

  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival, offering a warm welcome to our establishment
  • Handle luggage and belongings with care, ensuring proper storage and timely delivery to guest rooms
  • Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation options in Nairobi
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries
  • Assist with special events or conferences by setting up equipment and materials
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality or a related field
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication abilities in both verbal and written English
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift and carry heavy luggage safely
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
  • High standard of personal presentation and grooming
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of Nairobi and its surrounding areas, including popular attractions and transportation options
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues
  • Detail-oriented approach to work with strong organizational skills
  • Adaptability to handle diverse guest needs and unexpected situations
  • Familiarity with local customs and culture is a plus
Education: Degree, Diploma
