Job Description
Principal Responsibilities
- Support the WASH Technical Advisor in developing bills of quantities, technical reports and drawings (to be reviewed by WTA)
- Support in quality assurance (monitoring and evaluation) and development of documentation for WASH infrastructural developments
- With guidance from the WTA, participate in the bid analysis committees for WASH and construction related procurement
- Upon request, represent the WASH Department in County WASH forums
- Support in the monitoring and implementation of sanitation and hygiene interventions as guided by the WASH TA.
- Support in the development of periodical project and activity reports
- Work closely with the Technical Advisor to identify potential gaps and opportunities in WASH sector e.g. partners engagements, strategies for sustainability, fundraising.
- Work closely with the WASH TA in the conduction of community WASH needs assessment.
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the WASH TA.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc. in Civil Engineering/Water Engineering/Environmental Engineering/Agricultural Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in project support, mainly in the field of WASH
- Registered with a relevant professional body.
- Ability to conduct community WASH needs assessment, program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH activities
- Experience in development of WASH related documentation: BOQs, technical reports and drawings.
- Experience in (Integrated) Water Resource Management, and sanitation and hygiene interventions is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of SPHERE and other international standards.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Engineering CAD software e.g. AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, EPANET, GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS, Google Earth) and other computer packages such as the Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to work in a team environment and have cross-cultural sensitivity
