Job Description

Akili Network is looking for a creative, strategic, and action-driven Brand Manager to own our brand story and ensure it shines across every touchpoint. From understanding what makes our audience tick today (as opposed to yesterday), to planning unforgettable campaigns and events, you’ll be at the heart of everything that makes our brand come alive. Our ideal candidate will excel at storytelling, understand consumer behavior, and build meaningful connections through effective communication, events, and campaigns. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional brand experiences and leading cross-functional teams. We are looking for someone who needs to get their hands dirty, not just hand it off; there’s a certain satisfaction in making it work the way you want it to. This role requires exceptional leadership of marketing strategies, as well as communications and public relations, with a penchant for experimentation and exceptional execution. Curiosity, business acumen, and willingness to try new, fun, creative ideas are absolutely essential to the position.

Tell Our Story, Listen to Our Customers (Brand Communication)

  • You will find the perfect story for each of our audiences, then craft and share those stories to inspire and engage our audience
  • You will keep our brand messaging consistent, fresh, and exciting across all platforms.
  • You can compare best practices from other industries to adapt for our own purposes.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with the appropriate agencies to ensure high-value brand coverage
  • You’re hyper-collaborative with internal teams, creating unique and purposeful content for all forms of media

Listen & Learn What People Think, How They Behave and Respond to the Brand (Consumer Insights )

  • You can easily analyze existing market research to better understand consumer behavior, preferences, and trends
  • You are excited to dive into data to understand what our customers think, want, and need
  • Your standard approach is to glean insights from data, and tweak strategies and stay ahead of the game
  • You understand current consumer media trends (beyond TikTok) and will get to know our audience, enabling us to continually surprise and delight our audiences and our customers

Spread the Word - Edit, Create and Distribute Our Stories (Brand Experience )

  • If a good story should go to a PR outlet, you’ll make sure it gets there
  • If a brand experience is missing from the TV channel, you’ll lead the charge on the content and the deployment
  • You will build buzz with all tools at your disposal, including but not limited to compelling press releases, media outreach, professional social platforms, and influencer partnerships
  • You’ll own the creation and distribution of materials that tell the world about our brand

Create Unforgettable Experiences - Ensure Brand Story is Clear and Relevant to Event Audiences

  • You’ll collaborate in the planning and execution of events that showcase our brand and captivate audiences, and work closely with our internal and external Events teams to give the highest quality of engagement
  • You will work with these teams to ensure every event reflects our story and mission, regardless of the size of the event
  • Your focus will be on ensuring branding is central to event logistics and ensure successful outcomes

Build The Plan & See It Through- Marketing Strategy and Effective Implementation

  • Dream it, build it, launch it. You can create and execute campaigns that stick in people’s minds
  • You will be able to monitor performance, set KPIs, tweak as needed, celebrate the wins, and learn from the losses

Make Marketing Magic Through Exceptional Campaigns

  • You will work closely with our internal teams to design and execute marketing campaigns that increase brand awareness and drive engagement
  • You can utilize digital and traditional marketing channels effectively
  • You can easily track and report on campaign performance (working with our analytics team), providing insights for continuous improvement

Lead The Charge - Collaboration, Stakeholder Management and Team Leadership

  • You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, programming, and creative, to align marketing initiatives with organizational goals.
  • You can build and nurture relationships with partners, sponsors, and key industry stakeholders.
  • You inspire and guide the marketing team to hit goals and have fun while doing it.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in brand management or marketing.
  • Proven experience in event planning and execution.
  • Strong skills in storytelling, campaign execution, and consumer research.
  • A knack for making connections—with people and ideas.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
