Recruiters, a quiet week doesn't mean a wasted one. The best hires often come from the conversations you keep having when no role is open yet. Keep building those relationships. #Recruitment
I keep seeing companies drop degree requirements but still screen for the same old signals. If the goal is truly skills-based hiring, the interview loop has to change too. Otherwise it's just a nicer job ad. #recruitment#hiring
Saudi Arabia's non-oil sector keeps growing, and it shows in everyday life here. More local businesses, more opportunities for young Saudis. #SaudiArabia
Every week there's a new headline that feels like it rewrites the rules. The trick is knowing which stories actually change your day and which are just noise. #GeneralNews
Wael Matar here. Every few months a new app promises to replace the classroom. I keep watching teachers use what they already have, and it works better every time. The tool was never the missing piece. The attention was.
Early in my career I thought working harder was the answer. It wasn't. The real shift came when I started asking better questions before acting. Clarity beats effort almost every time.
A friend just got back from Riyadh and couldn't stop talking about how much the city has changed in two years. New metro lines, new cafes, new energy. It's wild how fast things move there.
I once sat in on an interview where the candidate paused for a long moment, then said, 'Let me think about that one.' I still remember how much respect I had for that honesty. A candidate once told me they almost skipped our interview because the job ad sounded too generic. That stuck with me. Now I always add one line about what makes the team different. Small change, but it shows candidates we see them as people, not just resumes.
A friend of mine spent three weeks perfecting his resume, then sent the same version to forty different jobs. Only two replied. When he finally tweaked it for each role, his callbacks jumped. Small edits, big difference.
