Spotify has announced a new Reserved program, designed to offer concert tickets to real fans of participating artists. The initiative aims to reduce the hassle and stress of securing tickets for popular shows. However, eligibility requires a Spotify Premium subscription, and the criteria for identifying real fans remain somewhat unclear.
Spotify selects fans based on streams, shares, and other Spotify activity. The platform monitors Premium user behavior to ensure participants are real humans, not bots. Selected users can purchase two tickets during a dedicated window, typically lasting around a day.
If you are selected, Spotify will send an email and an in-app notification. Ensure your location is enabled in the Live Events Feed to verify proximity to the touring artist. Note that there will be significantly more superfans than seats, so not every fan will receive an offer.
The Reserved program kicks off this summer in the United States, with plans to expand to more markets in the future. Initially, newly announced tours for select artists will dedicate tickets to true fans. Over time, Reserved will cover more tours of all sizes, including highly sought-after shows.
In addition to the Reserved program, Spotify is also launching AI-generated remixes. Stay tuned for more updates on how Spotify is enhancing the music experience for fans.
