AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid Features Expand Globally
Apple has officially expanded its AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid and Hearing Test features to even more countries, answering a growing demand for accessible hearing health tools. Users in regions like Argentina, Indonesia, and Ukraine can now access personalized hearing tests through their AirPods Pro 2 when paired with devices running iOS 18.1 or later. These built-in tests mimic clinical hearing assessments and offer immediate, personalized results that indicate various levels of hearing loss—from mild to profound.
How the AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Test Works
The AirPods Pro 2 connects to your iPhone or iPad to deliver a frequency-based hearing test, playing tones at 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, and 4kHz in each ear. By tapping the screen when a tone is heard, users help the system determine their hearing thresholds. Apple classifies results into categories ranging from little-to-no hearing loss (under 25 dBHL) to profound loss (above 80 dBHL). If the test detects mild to moderate hearing loss, users in supported countries will be prompted to activate the Hearing Aid feature on AirPods Pro 2.
New Countries Supporting Hearing Aid Features
The AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid functionality now includes support in regions such as Ecuador, Vietnam, Thailand, and more. Interestingly, Cyprus previously offered hearing tests but now gains full hearing aid support as well. On the flip side, while Argentina has added the hearing test capability, it doesn't yet support the hearing aid feature. This strategic expansion means users in these areas can now enhance voice clarity and adjust audio playback based on their hearing profile—all directly through their AirPods.
What Makes AirPods Pro 2 a Game-Changer for Hearing Health
Apple’s hearing aid features use test data to fine-tune specific frequencies, making everyday listening easier. Whether you’re watching videos, taking phone calls, or enjoying music, Media Assist tailors the experience to your hearing needs. With availability now spanning more than 150 countries, the AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid system offers a discreet, tech-forward alternative to traditional hearing aids—bridging the gap between consumer audio devices and assistive technology in a way that’s accessible, reliable, and easy to use.
