Sharjah’s one of its oldest petrol pumps, dating back to the 1960s, is getting a new life as a museum at Al Faya Retreat in Mleiha. The historic site once served vehicles crossing the desert.

The preserved pump will now help visitors explore the area’s history and heritage. A local shop and medical clinic are also being reimagined as part of the retreat’s expansion.

Al Faya Retreat is set to grow from five rooms to 20 accommodation units by Q4 2026, while preserving the site’s original identity and natural landscape.
