Job Description

Role Overview

This position focuses on the day-to-day handling, quality assurance, and technical readiness of medical devices within a warehouse setting. The person in this role ensures that every piece of biomedical equipment—from hospital beds to diagnostic instruments—is properly received, logged, inspected, functionally tested, and prepared for shipment according to internal protocols and manufacturer guidelines. By maintaining a smooth flow of working equipment out of the warehouse, the role directly supports clinical teams and patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming biomedical equipment, verify shipments against purchase orders, and perform visual inspections for damage or missing parts.
  • Conduct basic functionality tests and pre-delivery checks on all outbound medical devices to confirm they meet operational standards before leaving the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical inventory records for all equipment, spare parts, accessories, and consumables, and periodically reconcile stock counts.
  • Coordinate with technical engineers and warehouse staff to prioritise the testing, repair, and packaging of devices needed for upcoming dispatches.
  • Identify and document equipment defects or failures during inbound quality checks, and escalate issues to the engineering team for troubleshooting or repair.
  • Assist in organising the warehouse layout to separate faulty, pending repair, and ready-for-dispatch equipment clearly, ensuring no mixed storage.
  • Support the replenishment of critical spare parts by monitoring low stock alerts and notifying the procurement team in a timely manner.
  • Prepare all required documentation—test reports, inspection sheets, and compliance records—for each unit processed, keeping files complete and audit-ready.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least one year of prior experience in a warehouse environment handling equipment or inventory.
  • Two to four years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, technical support, medical device management, or warehouse operations in the healthcare sector.
  • Working knowledge of medical equipment inspection protocols, preventive maintenance procedures, basic troubleshooting, and simple repairs.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, asset tracking databases, and standard warehousing practices is a strong plus.
