Role Overview
This position involves operating company trucks and vans to transport event equipment, furnishings, and supplies to and from venues across Nairobi. Day-to-day work includes coordinating with the logistics team to meet tight event schedules, helping load and unload bulky items, and keeping vehicles road-ready. - Deliver event materials—such as tents, staging, furniture, and décor—to client sites on time and collect them after events.
- Help load, secure, and unload equipment to prevent damage, using straps or padding as needed.
- Check loads against dispatch lists before departure and again upon return to confirm everything is accounted for.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Keep the interior and exterior of assigned vehicles clean and well-maintained.
- Plan efficient routes using GPS apps like Google Maps, adjusting for traffic or road conditions.
- Maintain trip logs that document mileage, fuel use, delivery times, and any incidents or delays.
- Notify the operations team immediately about accidents, breakdowns, or other disruptions.
- Assist the wider events crew with setup and breakdown at venues when extra hands are needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- KCSE certificate; additional training in transport, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- At least five years of professional driving experience with commercial trucks or delivery vans.
- Valid Kenyan driving licence covering the class required for the vehicles used (truck/van), backed by a clean driving record.
- Prior experience moving bulky goods, equipment, or event materials is advantageous.
- Basic mechanical ability to spot and describe common vehicle faults.
- Thorough familiarity with Nairobi’s road network, traffic regulations, and defensive driving principles.
- Completion of National Youth Service (NYS) training is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and accountability in previous roles.

- Good verbal communication and ability to coordinate with event teams.
- Physically fit enough to assist with lifting and securing heavy loads.
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict event deadlines with minimal supervision.
