Role: Van Sales Manager

Job Purpose

We are looking for a results-oriented Van Sales Manager to optimize our distribution network within the Kiambu territory. In this role, you will be the face of the brand on the road, balancing strategic route management with aggressive sales execution. Your mission is to ensure our products are consistently available, well-positioned, and dominant in the market. This position requires a mix of logistics coordination and high-level negotiation to expand our footprint while maintaining meticulous financial and stock accountability.

Functional Deliverables

Route Strategy & Market Penetration

  • Architect and implement dynamic van sales strategies to consistently meet daily and monthly volume targets.

  • Design and manage optimized sales routes to ensure maximum coverage and fuel efficiency across the Kiambu region.

  • Identify untapped business opportunities and onboard new retail partners to broaden the existing customer base.

  • Negotiate pricing, promotional displays, and premium product placements to maximize brand visibility.

Operations & Inventory Integrity

  • Oversee the end-to-end stock lifecycle, including precise loading, offloading, and daily reconciliation to eliminate losses.

  • Maintain rigorous sales records, route performance reports, and up-to-date customer databases.

  • Manage the company vehicle’s maintenance schedule and ensure total compliance with safety and traffic regulations.

  • Coordinate timely cash collections and ensure all banking is performed in strict adherence to company fiscal policies.

Client Relations & Market Intel

  • Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with distributors and retailers to ensure brand loyalty.

  • Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activities, providing real-time feedback to management to inform strategic pivots.

  • Resolve customer grievances promptly, maintaining a high standard of service and professional reputation.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to support staff to ensure collective performance benchmarks are surpassed.

Expected Background

Professional Qualifications

  • Education: Certificate or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or any Business-related discipline.

  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record in FMCG van sales and territory management.

  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to manage sales routes and achieve high-pressure targets.

  • Licensing: A valid driving license is preferred for this role.
