Strategic Innovation Analyst

Role Overview

In this role, you will help the organisation turn emerging needs and ideas into well-considered opportunities for innovation and improvement. Working with colleagues across different functions, you will examine how proposals fit strategic goals, what they would require in practice, and where they could deliver meaningful value.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness, delivery approaches, growth prospects and strategic impact.
• Work with teams to understand unmet needs and operational challenges, then shape them into clear, actionable proposals.
• Evaluate new concepts and initiatives for strategic fit, practical requirements, risks and potential benefits.
• Explore early-stage opportunities involving emerging markets, partnerships and organisational improvement.
• Consult stakeholders to understand the conditions that may enable or constrain innovation and change.
• Review proposals and improvement ideas, identify gaps or weaknesses, and recommend feasible ways to strengthen them.
• Identify obstacles and gaps in the organisation’s innovation processes and suggest ways to improve them.
• Prepare analysis and recommendations to inform decisions and strengthen the organisation’s ability to innovate.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience in strategic innovation, business improvement, organisational development, strategy or a related analytical discipline.
• Ability to use conceptual frameworks and sound judgement when developing or evaluating ideas and organisational approaches.
• Experience collaborating across functions to understand needs and develop proposals for innovation or improvement.
• Strong consultation skills, including the ability to understand strategic priorities and practical operating conditions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing existing practices and recommending practical improvements that create value.
• Ability to manage complex work independently while working constructively with colleagues.
• Understanding of how innovation, strategy, planning and organisational performance connect in practice.
