Job Description

Role Overview

This position owns the store and warehouse function end to end, from the moment goods arrive to the point they are issued to internal teams or returned to suppliers. The person in this seat keeps material flow reliable, records trustworthy, and the physical space safe and organised, which directly protects project timelines and operational budgets. They also build the day-to-day capability of the store team so that receiving, storage, and dispatch run consistently even when priorities shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct incoming material inspections, put-away, preservation, picking, issuing, and return-to-stock or return-to-vendor processes.
  • Run inventory control through the company’s ERP or inventory platform, keeping item master, batch or serial, location, and quantity data clean and current.
  • Work closely with procurement and project delivery colleagues to anticipate material needs, flag shortages early, and align delivery schedules with site or production demand.
  • Write, roll out, and refine standard operating procedures, workflow maps, and storekeeping instructions that reflect real warehouse conditions.
  • Enforce safety, housekeeping, and compliance expectations across storage areas, including proper handling, stacking, segregation, and documentation.
  • Coach, schedule, and assess store assistants and warehouse personnel, setting clear performance standards and addressing gaps through training.
  • Produce stock reports, cycle counts, reconciliation packs, and audit-ready records; investigate and resolve variances.
  • Support internal and external audits, maintaining traceability and responding to findings with corrective actions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in store or warehouse management, with hands-on accountability for inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement & Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a comparable discipline.
  • Practical knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems; able to extract reports, reconcile data, and train others on system use.
  • Understanding of receipt, storage, issuance, return, and stock reconciliation processes in a project or operations environment.
  • Experience writing and implementing SOPs, workflows, and store procedures.
  • Leadership background: supervising, training, and developing warehouse or store assistants.
  • Familiarity with safety, housekeeping, compliance, and audit documentation requirements for stores and warehouses.
  • Exposure to the meat industry and cold chain operations is a plus.
  • Strong coordination skills with procurement and project teams; clear communication.
