Stock-In-Charge

Role Overview

This position keeps the store’s inventory accurate, organized, and ready for sale. The Stock-In-Charge / Storekeeper owns the daily flow of goods from delivery to storage to shop floor, making sure quantities match records and that teams can find what they need quickly. By protecting stock accuracy and availability, the role directly supports smooth retail operations and a better customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming deliveries, cross-check items against invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders, and flag missing, damaged, or incorrect stock.
• Enter receipts, transfers, returns, and adjustments into the inventory system or ERP, maintaining clean and audit-ready records.
• Organize the stockroom and sales-floor reserves so products are labeled, accessible, and stored safely.
• Track stock levels and reorder points, then alert purchasing or store management when items run low or move slowly.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory checks, investigating variances and documenting root causes.
• Prepare and replenish stock for the sales floor, following rotation rules such as first-in-first-out to reduce waste and expiry risk.
• Coordinate with store teams, suppliers, and delivery drivers to resolve discrepancies, schedule deliveries, and manage returns.
• Follow loss-prevention and safety procedures, keeping storage areas clear, compliant, and secure.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Stock-In-Charge, Storekeeper, or in a comparable inventory-focused role.
• Strong grasp of inventory management, stock control methods, and record-keeping practices.
• Practical experience with inventory software or ERP systems for tracking receipts, transfers, counts, and adjustments.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to numbers and documentation.
• Ability to stay accurate and calm under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
