Job Description
Role Overview
This role drives the strategic direction and operational excellence of child sponsorship programmes across a large region, ensuring alignment with global policies and standards. Day to day, you will lead cross-functional teams to improve child participation, data analytics, and business systems while building capacity in national offices. Your work directly influences how sponsorship operations integrate with programme delivery, ultimately strengthening outcomes for children and sponsor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce regional sponsorship policies, standards, and operating models, monitoring compliance and engaging leadership to address gaps.
- Lead regional efforts to embed meaningful child participation into all sponsorship business processes and sponsor engagement features.
- Coordinate regional data analysis to inform strategic decisions, business process improvements, and capacity-building priorities.
- Facilitate operational and performance review processes with field offices and regional leadership to shape sponsorship planning and budgeting.
- Build strategic partnerships with technical teams (e.g., DME, child protection, education, health, gender) to strengthen programmatic and operational integration.
- Provide technical leadership and capacity-building support to national office sponsorship teams, including peer coaching networks.
- Oversee implementation of sponsorship business systems (Horizon HOPE, SSUI, mobile apps) and coordinate with global IT to resolve issues and drive digital transformation.
- Manage risk by monitoring audit findings, performance trends, and sponsor data integrity, then guiding field offices on corrective actions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred—ideally in management, social sciences, or a related field.
- At least five years of development work experience, including a minimum of two years in a country-level leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of child sponsorship operations and processes, with at least two years supervising or managing sponsorship at country or cluster level.
- Proven ability to facilitate training, workshops, and community engagement effectively.
- Strong strategic understanding of development programme approaches, including field office experience in sponsorship or development projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
