Job Description
Role Overview
This university academic role combines teaching, student supervision, curriculum development and research across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will also contribute to academic leadership, professional and community engagement, and the administrative work that supports the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assess courses in the relevant discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Guide undergraduate projects and other practical or experiential learning activities.
- Supervise postgraduate dissertations and theses through to completion.
- Design and develop courses for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Initiate and contribute to research projects, and share findings through academic activity.
- Take part in academic leadership programmes and relevant institutional activities.
- Provide professional and community services, build external partnerships and support fundraising initiatives.
- Undertake administrative tasks and other duties assigned by the university.
Requirements & Qualifications
- An earned doctorate or an academically equivalent qualification.
- At least four years of university-level teaching or research experience since appointment as Lecturer.
- Demonstrated experience supervising postgraduate students.
- Evidence of attendance and contributions at academic conferences, seminars or workshops.
- At least four publications in refereed journals produced since appointment as Lecturer.
