Role Overview
As a Senior Content Designer, you will shape the content and interaction strategy for a product area from early discovery through launch and ongoing improvement. Working closely with product, design, and engineering, you will make complex journeys easier to understand and use while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. You will also raise the quality of content design across teams by coaching colleagues and helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead content design from research and discovery to prototyping, delivery, launch, and iteration across complex product experiences.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers early in planning to influence scope, sequencing, trade-offs, and product direction.
- Create and test interface content, including navigation, microcopy, error messages, help content, and product documentation, maintaining a clear and consistent voice.
- Use Figma to wireframe and prototype content-led solutions, explaining design choices and presenting alternatives with their respective benefits and limitations.
- Plan or contribute to user interviews, usability studies, A/B tests, content audits, and analytics reviews; translate findings into design improvements.
- Develop accessible, inclusive content that supports user understanding, builds trust, and reflects the product’s intended tone and brand.
- Improve content guidelines, reusable patterns, and content design standards in collaboration with brand, marketing, and communications partners.
- Mentor junior content designers, facilitate alignment across stakeholders, and encourage constructive feedback and shared responsibility for content quality.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in content design.
- Strong command of content design principles and end-to-end product thinking; able to approach content as part of the overall interaction design, not simply as copywriting.
- Experience designing for complex product flows and working effectively in cross-functional product teams.
- Confidence using Figma to collaborate, create prototypes, and develop practical solutions independently and at pace.
- Experience with qualitative research, A/B testing, UX metrics, and interpreting data to guide design decisions; able to initiate research where needed.
- Sound judgment in balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility, including decisions about when to ship and when further refinement is needed.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain and defend content decisions to senior audiences.
- Comfort working in a changing environment where processes are still taking shape, while helping establish useful content practices and standards.
- Experience contributing to a content design system, including reusable patterns and components.
- Experience in fintech or SaaS is an advantage. Familiarity with AI tools or experience developing AI-enabled workflows is also a plus.
