Senior Accountant

Role Overview

This role is responsible for steering the company’s financial direction, ensuring that all fiscal operations align with long-term business goals. Day to day, you will oversee accounting processes, prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership, and drive budgeting cycles that keep the organisation on solid financial footing. Your work directly supports sustainable growth by enabling informed decision-making, maintaining regulatory compliance, and protecting assets through strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the financial strategy, linking it closely with broader business objectives.
• Supervise the full accounting function, including month-end close, reconciliations, and ledger management.
• Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements; explain variances in performance to management.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, monitor departmental spending, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment portfolios; authorise payments and track receivables/payables.
• Design and enforce internal controls to mitigate financial risk and ensure governance compliance.
• Oversee all tax filings, statutory submissions, and coordination with external auditors, regulators, and tax advisors.
• Review procurement expenditures and project costing for value, and supervise payroll processing.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a directly related discipline.
• CPA-K certification mandatory; ICPAK membership strongly preferred.
• At least five years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Minimum three years in a senior finance leadership role, demonstrating managerial accountability.
• Background in manufacturing, branding, signage, construction, or project-based industries is a distinct advantage.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training needs.
• Strong analytical skills for financial modelling, cost analysis, and strategic recommendations.
