Role Overview
This role is accountable for driving revenue growth and market expansion across Kenya by leading field sales teams and uncovering new commercial opportunities within the agribusiness value chain. Day to day, you will coordinate field representatives, strengthen relationships with stockists, farms, and institutions, and work alongside branch teams to execute sales strategies that improve market penetration. Your leadership will directly shape the company's competitive position in the agrovet and distribution space.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, coach, and support field sales representatives to meet individual and team sales targets through regular accompaniment, performance feedback, and on-the-ground training.
- Set team objectives, monitor route adherence and coverage, and adjust deployment plans to ensure efficient use of sales resources across assigned territories.
- Manage and grow relationships with distribution customers such as stockists, commercial farms, cooperatives, and institutional buyers, resolving issues that affect their experience and loyalty.
- Prepare and present sales performance reports, tracking KPIs, productivity, and market trends to management, while recommending corrective actions when results lag.
- Analyse competitor activity and route-to-market effectiveness to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improved distribution efficiency.
- Coordinate branch-level sales activities, ensuring alignment with seasonal campaigns, market activation plans, and company-wide development initiatives.
- Build a robust sales pipeline by prospecting new customer segments, territories, and channels, including farmer groups and emerging agribusinesses.
- Plan and support farm outreach efforts, market activations, and awareness campaigns that increase brand visibility and foster long-term customer engagement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Sales, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in sales management, preferably within the agrovet, agribusiness, or distribution sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and executing business growth strategies that deliver measurable revenue results.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate field teams and improve performance through structured follow-up.
- Solid commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret market data, competitor insights, and route-to-market analytics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience building trust across farmers, stockists, distributors, and internal branch teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Kenya for field visits, market meetings, and customer engagement activities.
