Role Overview
This motor vehicle sales agent drives revenue growth by connecting buyers with the right vehicles and financing solutions across Kenya and nearby markets. Acting as the link between the dealership, corporate clients, and asset finance banks, the role involves active field prospecting, fleet lobbying, and shepherding deals from first contact through to vehicle handover. Success in this position directly expands the dealership's market share in both retail and commercial segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for vehicle buyers through field visits, cold calls, networking events, and digital outreach, targeting both individual and organisational clients within Kenya and beyond.
- Pitch fleet supply and commercial vehicle contracts to businesses, private institutions, and government agencies, building a pipeline of high-value B2B deals.
- Meet with prospective clients to assess their transport requirements and recommend suitable vehicle models from the dealership's range.
- Design and execute target-driven sales plans that increase market penetration and improve deal closure rates.
- Cultivate direct working relationships with asset finance banks and financial institutions to speed up loan approvals, release letters, and fund disbursements.
- Oversee sales paperwork, client order processing, and administrative schedules to prevent delivery bottlenecks.
- Liaise with internal service, workshop, and clearance teams to monitor unit preparation and ensure timely vehicle handovers.
- Handle telephone, online, and walk-in enquiries professionally, maintain follow-ups on open transactions, resolve complaints, and prepare regular reports on sales metrics, field conversion, and operational improvements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in sales, business development, or customer relationship management.
- Demonstrated track record in motor vehicle sales, commercial fleet transactions, or high-value B2B sales, with evidence of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Proven ability to win new clients through field visits, corporate pitches, referral networks, and online platforms.
- Working knowledge of Kenyan asset finance procedures and dealership documentation requirements.
- Strong negotiation, pitching, and closing skills, with the ability to build rapport across corporate and retail buyer segments.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a target-based, commission-driven environment.
