Job Description

Role Overview

This position is for a health research professional who will contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of studies focused on improving clinical and public health outcomes. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to collect and manage data, support field or facility-based research activities, and ensure that protocols are followed with scientific rigour. Your work will directly inform evidence-based decisions in healthcare delivery, disease surveillance, or intervention programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of research protocols, including participant recruitment, informed consent processes, and data collection tools.
  • Collect, verify, and manage quantitative and qualitative data from clinical records, surveys, laboratory results, or community-based sources.
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarise relevant scientific evidence to guide study design and interpretation of findings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for ethical approval, regulatory compliance, and data quality assurance procedures.
  • Perform basic statistical or epidemiological analyses using appropriate software, and assist with preparing tables, figures, and drafted manuscripts.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, laboratory teams, and community partners to ensure smooth study operations and timely enrolment targets.
  • Monitor study progress against timelines, flagging risks to investigators and proposing practical solutions.
  • Disseminate results through internal presentations, progress reports, or co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a health-related field such as medicine, nursing, clinical medicine, pharmacy, nutrition, dietetics, medical laboratory science, public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics, data science, or biomedical science.
  • Prior experience in healthcare research, including fieldwork, clinical data collection, or data analysis, is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and structured problem-solving to complex or ambiguous research challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the capacity to present technical information clearly to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • A genuine commitment to advancing healthcare through rigorous, ethical, and reproducible research practices.
